Our services

Supported Housing

We offer a range of housing with support, designed to meet people’s individual needs and naturally encourage independence. Our services provide care and support in shared houses and single service flats with access to communal facilities. Each of our properties is of a high-quality standard, comfortable and homely. All residents are able to choose their own décor and have their own private bedrooms.

We provide young people with shared living experiences, and also offer solo training flat experiences to prepare them for independent living. Through elements of communal living, residents make new friendships, develop social skills and can get involved in group sessions such as cooking, gardening and film nights.

All our homes are equipped to the meet the needs of young people and have fully equipped kitchen, dining rooms and lounge providing space to cook, eat, relax and reflect. Our homes are ordinary domestic houses; they do not stand out as being different from other houses in the area.

Aims of the Services-min

Our properties are all located in residential areas, close to local amenities, leisure facilities and employment opportunities. Whatever the set-up, we provide a safe and homely environment, where personalised support is delivered to help young people live as independently as possible.

Activities and Lifelong Learning

We encourage and support each of our young residents to access lifelong learning, education, training and social amenities so that they develop a broad range of skills required to live independently. We undertake a comprehensive life skills assessment and set targets, working together with young persons to achieve increased independence and a happy, fulfilling life.

Our Lifelong Learning program has excellent links with local specialist colleges and clubs that offer specialist and mainstream activities and amenities.

We work with each young person to come up with a plan to reach their goals. Our programmes include:

    • Life skills training to help young people budget, pay bills and live independently
    • Work experience, traineeships and job skills workshops to prepare young people for a career
    • Support to express themselves through drama, fashion, dance, music and photography.
    • Classes to help young people improve their basic maths and English skills.
    • Help young people with their educational and job applications

As part of the Activities and Lifelong service, we will support our residents in having their own bank accounts, bill payments, passport, benefits and anything else that enhances independent living as set out in Rainer and others publication “Getting Ready for Adult Life”.
