We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all those in our care at all times. Our policies, processes and procedures are based on our wealth of experience in dealing with those who are most vulnerable in our society. These mechanisms are externally validated through external inspection by Ofsted or the Care Quality Commission, dependent upon the nature of the services being delivered.

Fundamental to effective safeguarding is ensuring we recruit, train and retain staff who share our commitment to protect all of those in our care. Our processes and procedures follow the principles of the Warner Report – “Choosing with Care”- a recognised standard for ensuring that organisations recruit, select and appoint staff with the right qualities to work with children and vulnerable individuals.

We also ensure that we comply with all relevant legislation as well as guidance and the code of practice published by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) and the Independent Safeguarding Authority.

We work, where appropriate, with the young person’s family in order to assist in improving relationships and actively support them to maintain the positive links in their lives. We also liaise with external agencies to support the work carried out with young people. This includes drug and alcohol services, advocacy services and CAMH services.
